The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has condemned the latest killing of a police officer last night, 18 June 2018, in the Isipingo area.
At 22:30, a Warrant Officer (54) from Umlazi detectives was off duty in the Malukazi area, Isipingo. He was seated in his vehicle with a companion when they were attacked.
It is alleged that at least six unknown suspects approached them and forced the detective out of his vehicle. He was shot and died instantly. His companion was also wounded during the attack. The police officers firearm was taken by the suspects before they fled the scene in their getaway vehicle.
