At approximately 20:00 on 24 July 2017, the Marshall Security Emergency Contact Center, received a call for a vehicle which had been reported stolen from a sporting arena in Rinaldo Road in the Glen Hills area, north of Durban.

The owner reported that on returning to the vehicle after a sporting fixture, she noticed her gold Toyota Avanza had been stolen.

A member of the public assisted her in contacting Marshall Security as she had left her iPhone in the vehicle.

Quick action by the Marshall Security Emergency Contact Centre, saw the phone tracked to the Sherwood area and the Marshall Security Special Operations Team were activated to assist.

After a brief tracking period, the Toyota was found abandoned off the main road, with the cellular phone still in the glove box.

The vehicle was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation.
