On Tuesday 20 August 2019, at 23:00, police officers from Inanda SAPS were following up on intelligence with regards to suspects involved in a carjacking case that was reported earlier this month. Police swooped on a home in Dube Village where the suspected carjackers were hiding out. The three men aged between 23 and 24 were placed under arrest.
Their arrest follows an incident that took place on 7 August 2019 at 21:00. The complainant was driving his vehicle at Bhambayi in Inanda when two unknown men forced him out of his vehicle at gunpoint.
He was shot on his thigh during the carjacking and the suspects fled with his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The arrested suspects will be appearing at the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court.
