At approximately 13:05 on 17 July 2017, members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to Station Road in Canelands, Verulam after receiving reports of a house on fire.
Upon arrival the home was found completely engulfed in flames.
Residents in the area had removed most of the house hold contents. Fire fighters from the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services extinguished the blaze.
An illegal electrical connection is blamed for the fire however this has yet to be confirmed.
