House robbery: Two armed suspects arrested, KwaMsane

On 12 January 2020, at 11:00, the KwaMsane Task Team acted on an intelligence driven information about the suspects in possession of a stolen property.

The team proceeded to Bhoboza area in KwaMsane where two suspects aged 23 and 35 were found inside the cottage. A search was then conducted and two flat screen TVs, two speakers as well as an amplifier were recovered. The suspects failed to give satisfactory explanation and documents about the recovered properties and were placed under arrest.

The investigation revealed that the property was stolen in the KwaMsane Reserve in December last year.

It is alleged that on 13 December 2019, just after midnight, at KwaMsane area, two unknown suspects armed with a knife entered the house and demanded cash and cellphones. They took two TV sets, computer, DVD, cellphones and other belongings before fleeing the scene.

A case of house robbery was opened for investigation at KwaMsane SAPS. The suspects are appearing on 13 January 2020, in the KwaMsane Magistrates’ Court facing charges of possession of a stolen property.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the KwaMsane Task Team for the arrest of the suspects. “The arrested suspects will also be profiled to check if they are linked to other robbery cases committed in KwaMsane and surrounding areas,” he said.
