A security officer from Alpha Alarms, together with the assistance of a street patrolman, nabbed a house break-in suspect on Friday and recovered a stolen gate in Isipingo Hills.
The security officer was standing down in Isipingo Hills when the patrol guard alerted him to the house break-in in progress off Platt Drive.
The suspect removed the gate when he was spotted by the patrol guard.
He then just grabbed the gate and fled. The officer and street patrolman pursued the suspect inside the dense bush and cornered him.
The stolen gate was recovered and the resident was grateful that her gate was returned.
She also appreciated the quick response from the security officer and the patrolman.
Once again a resident opted not to open a case at the police station.
The suspect had to be released.
