A Mossel Bay – Cape Town family holidaying in KwaZulu Natal was hijacked for their white Nissan X-Trail with registration CBS 7324 this afternoon (Thursday).
Reaction Officers were called out to Acacia Street in Trenance Park – KZN.
On arrival, it was established that the occupants of a silver Toyota Etios (registration unknown) confronted the victims outside a relatives home.
The family had just returned from shopping and were in the process of loading the vehicle in preparation for their return trip to Cape Town tomorrow (Friday).
A 53-year-old mother, her 28-year-old daughter and 6-year-old granddaughter fled into the residence when the armed suspects approached.
The driver was forced out of the car before the suspects drove off.
The 53-year-old sustained injuries during a fall while fleeing.
She was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
