Blue Security’s Tactical team acting on intelligence pulled over and recovered an allegedly stolen vehicle that was driving  in the Hillcrest area, Friday morning.

Blue Security tactical tactical ambassador Russel Lawson, said his partner, tactical community officer, Sbu Mchunu, had received the information about an alleged stolen vehicle that was spotted driving in the area and he then managed to track it down in Inanda Road at around 7.17am. The vehicle was reported as stolen in the Musgrave area in August and a case was opened at Umbilo police station.

“He approached the vehicle and questioned the driver who alleged that he was aware the vehicle had been stolen and that he planned to take it for police clearance during the course of today. However, as a safety measure we directed the driver to take his vehicle immediately to the Hillcrest Police station for further investigation,” Lawson said.

“The driver complied and the the police are currently investigating the matter. It is unclear at the stage whether the vehicle was in fact stolen and recovered earlier or whether it is still wanted by the police.”

Lawson commended Mchunu for his vigilance and swift action regarding the information received that led to the recovery of the vehicle.
