On Saturday night Blue Security’s control room received an alarming phone call regarding a murder that took place in the Durban area outside a business establishment in Russell street.
With no time to spare, our vehicles were dispatched and armed response rushed to the scene of the crime.
A local man was busy enjoying a drink and chatting to friends at a local tavern when he was approached by the suspect.
An altercation broke out and the suspect produced a knife.
In a fit of rage, the culprit violently began stabbing the victim.
Paramedics declared the victim deceased at the scene.
In the attempt to protect himself, the murderer immediately fled the scene and found a building to barricade himself in as the crowd from the tavern that had witnessed the gruesome crime were now after him.
Blue Security backup made their way to the crime scene where they assisted the Durban central SAPS in cornering off the scene.
Residents from a nearby block of flats were throwing bottles at the police as they were arresting the suspect and taking him away. The suspect was taken away for persecution by SAPS under the protection of the Blue Security armed response officers.
