Pedestrians made a grisly find of the body of a man who had allegedly been murdered during a robbery, lying on a path near a railway line on the route to Embo at the weekend.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the pedestrians had flagged down an armed response officer who was patrolling in the Hillcrest area at around 6.30am on Saturday morning. “The pedestrians described their find and the officer proceeded to the area where he located the body, which was lying face down on a path that leads to Embo, with a visible wound to the neck,” Mathios said.
Hillcrest SAPS and ER24 paramedics were called to the scene and they declared the man dead.
“The man had sustained multiple stab wounds and had allegedly been robbed of a new pair of shoes that he had been wearing and a new cellphone according to family members who identified him,” Mathios said.
