Two hijackers have been arrested following a high speed chase on the Hans Dettman Highway this morning.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said eThekwini Metro Police, the Durban Flying Squad and the SAPS K9 unit chased down the gang after they had hijacked a vehicle in Glenwood.
“The pursuit made its way into the upper highway area where the suspects lost control of the vehicle and rolled it into the bush. Two gang members were injured and trapped in the vehicle and a third suspect fled the scene,” Mathios said.
“The two suspects have been arrested and firearms have been recovered. A forensic team is on the scene and paramedics are treating the two injured suspects,” Mathios said.
A case of hijacking has been opened.
