Gardener threatened at knife-point in attempted robbery

A gardener sustained a minor cut on his abdomen when suspects alleged to be three, attempted to break into a house on Samsunder Road in Isipingo Rail on Thursday at about 9am.

Alpha Alarms responded to the premises after receiving calls about the incident. Police were already on scene.

Upon speaking to the gardener it was revealed that the suspects spotted him and threatened him at knifepoint at which point they cut him slightly on his abdomen.

They attempted to break into the house but the alarm system activated. The suspects fled the scene.

It is believed that this property had been broken into prior to this incident as well.

Isipingo Rail residents are urged to be alert and keep an eye out for suspicious persons.

There have been numerous reports of copper pipe thefts and other opportunistic crimes where items have been stolen that can be quickly sold as scrap.

Alpha officers searched for the suspects but to no avail.

Alpha response team is on high alert and have been patrolling the streets of Isipingo.
