The Hawks members from Durban Serious Corruption Investigation arrested a 53-year-old male for fraud and corruption.

The suspect was employed as an Administration Clerk and serving as a fleet manager at Nondweni police station. It is alleged that he used a state vehicle petrol card to fill-up petrol in his private motor vehicle. Preliminary investigation revealed that during the period of the commission of crime the state vehicle was in the garage for repairs.

A case of fraud and corruption was reported and the case docket was transferred to the Hawks members for intensive investigation. The suspect resigned from the service following the probe.

He was traced and arrested at Mondlo area. He is expected to appear in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crime Court today, 27 November 2020.
