Four suspects aged between 23-30 years old have been arrested for possessions of firearms and ammunition at Wasbank area by Umzinyathi District Task Team and Wasbank Detectives.
On Thursday, 21 March 2024 at night, a great pro-active policing was conducted by Umzinyathi District Task Team together with Wasbank Detectives, after an information that was received, about four suspects that were driving in a private motor vehicle all armed. Who were also alleged suspects in other cases of house robberies, and attempted murder.
According to the information, the said suspects were on their way to commit another crime, the motor vehicle with four occupants was then stopped and searched, upon search three occupants were in possession of firearms and ammunitions, two pistols and one 38 revolver. All four suspects were arrested at Wasbank police station. All suspects to be profiled, there are possibilities that they may be linked to other crimes that have been occurring in the District.
