On Thursday, 25 June 2020 Siphiwe Mkhize (60) a former Head of Department of KwaZulu-Natal Agriculture and his accomplice Zwelithini Erick Zondi (49) a service provider and owner of a security company briefly appeared in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crime Court for corruption.
The two were arrested by Durban Serious Commercial Crime unit following an intensive investigation. It is alleged that during the period of November 2016 to January 2017 Ikhwezi Protection Services purchase a motor vehicle to the value of R548100. 00 for Mkhize who was responsible for the extension and month to month payments for the said service provider at the time.
Mkhize was granted R5000.00 bail and Zondi was granted R10 000-00 bail. The case was postponed to 28 July 2020.
