A Scrap Collector was fatally injured after he was struck by a truck on the north bound lane of the R102 in Phoenix – KZN on Thursday.
A passing motorists contacted the Operations Centre requesting urgent assistance for the pedestrian. Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene at 14:42 and on arrival found the man lying in the Emergency Lane. It was alleged that he was being pursued by two (2) males for unknown reasons. He fled into traffic and was struck by a white Hyundai Mighty truck.
Paramedics attempted stabilising him on scene, but he died from his injuries.
