Female security officer averts robbery at business premises – Durban
A robbery was averted this morning when an alert security officer pressed the panic causing the prowling suspects to flee.
The Alpha Alarms officer responded to the premises on Joyner Road within minutes at which point the suspects had already dispersed.
According to the female security officer, eight males in a white Quantum distracted her by pretending to be taxi operators who were looking for a client. Whilst chatting to the males, the security officer noticed that one male ripped the tarp covering a truck that was parked on the premises.
The security officer pressed the panic immediately. The suspects noticing that the security officer caught up with their scam, immediately fled the scene without attempting to steal any items. The Alpha Tactical Unit and armed response team are on high alert for the getaway suspects.
