Kranskop Detectives embarked on an operation on 19 August 2019, to apprehend a suspect involved in a murder that took place over the weekend. The operation was successful and a 38 year old suspect was arrested. He was arrested at his place of employment in the Kranskop CBD.
The suspect’s licensed firearm which was used to commit the offence, was also seized by the team of detectives. The arrest follows the fatal shooting of Thobelani Ngubo (38) on 17 August 2019, at KwaMxhosa in Kranskop.
After the shooting, he was taken to hospital where he later passed away. A case of murder was opened at Kranskop SAPS for investigation. The suspect is due to appear at the Kranskop Magistrates Court facing a charge of murder.
