Just after 3pm on Monday afternoon ALS Paramedics responded to numerous calls of a shooting incident on the R603 near Adam’s Mission and Illovu South of Durban.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find a shooting incident had occurred on the R603 when it is alleged that a family vehicle had broken down and the family was approached by gunmen who opened fire.
The family attempted to flee whilst the gunman continued shooting and following them. Paramedics were shown to a house just below the roadway where they found a female in her forties who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her lower legs.
She was stabilized on the scene by ALS Paramedics amd EMRS before being transported to a nearby Hospital for the further care that she required.
Paramedics were then shown to the front of the house where they found a male believed to be in his twenties who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. He was declared deceased on the scene. Paramedics were then shown to the river bank where they found a male believed to the father of the family. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was also declared deceased on the scene.
At this stage the events leading up to the shooting is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
