A man was stabbed in his neck and back by his employee during an investigation regarding theft at a farm in Greylands, Tongaat, in the KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the poultry farm at approximately 20:24 on Saturday 19 June 2021.

On arrival Reaction Officers were informed that the seriously injured male was rushed privately to hospital.

According to his family, the 28 year old man and his father were interviewing staff in an office in regards to theft of crates when the farm worker stabbed him. His father drew his firearm and discharged at least four rounds. The employee is believed to have been shot in the leg however this could not be confirmed.

He fled the scene prior to the arrival of Reaction Officers. A second employee was found handcuffed inside the office.

Two spent 9mm cartridges and the knife used in the attack were recovered at the scene.

Reaction Officers conducted a search for the employee however he still remains at large.

The Tongaat SAPS are on scene and investigating further.
