The owner of a Midlands restaurant in the Balgowan, Lidgetton area of the KwaZulu natal province of South Africa, was killed on Saturday morning 6 June 2020, during a farm attack. An unknown number of attackers approached the man while he was in his workshop, overpowered him and forced him into the home, where, whist demanding money hacked the man to death with a panga.

The man’s companion, on hearing the commotion, managed to escape and run to the main gate of Michealhouse School where she relayed what happened to security guards who called the ambulance and police.

There is no other information available at this stage. SAPS Nottingham Road are investigating. There have been no arrests.
