Farm attack: Farmer escapes with his life during panga attack, Harding

A savage farm attack took place at 15:00 on Christmas day, 25 December 2019, in Harding, Hluku area in the KwaZulu Natal province. A farmer was confronted in his home by a panga wielding attacker. The farmer who was alone at the time was injured when the attacker laid into him with a bush knife demanding firearms and money.

During the assault the farmer managed to get out of the house to his vehicle where the assault continued. The attacker also chopped one of the tyres on the vehicle. The farmer saved his life by managing to drive off to seek help. He suffered deep gashes to his head, chest and legs was admitted to hospital after arriving badly injured at another farm 19km away.

There is no other information available at this stage. Police are investigating the attack, There have been no arrests.
