A farm attack took place on 29 September 2018 at 21:00 in Dundee in KZN. Sandy Hessing a 73 year old farmer, was overpowered by an unknown number of attackers when he stopped to open the gate a mere 500m from his house. A rock was thrown at him and then his hands and feet were tied with baling twine and he was severely kicked and beaten.

The attackers tried to steal his bakkie but were unsuccessful and they fled the scene. Sandy freed himself, and managed to walk home. The following morning he walked to his neighbour who took him to Dundee hospital, to get his bruises and injuries tended to.

The SAPS were notified and will attend to the crime scene. It is not yet clear what was taken, except perhaps for his cellphone he couldn’t find.
