Not only a farm attack but the rape of an 84-Year-old female victim left the community in shock. The elderly lady was attacked on her farm Annieville, situated in the Amajuba District, KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday, February 11.
The elderly woman was asleep when the suspect gained entry into the house and overpowered her. He threatened to kill her if she shouted. The suspect wanted to know the whereabouts of her grandson, and she told him she did not know where he was.
The suspect demanded money from her and she told him she did not have any, he then forcefully raped her and fled.
The woman phoned a neighbor who immediately responded and called the police.
According to the police, they are still searching for the suspect and have appealed to the public to assist them with any information pertaining to this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Dannhauser SAPS on 034 621 6509.
The woman was taken to the hospital and receiving treatment.
