Farm attack, couple overpowered, firearms robbed, Wasbank

A farm attack took place on the morning of 17 October 2021, at 06:50 on a farm in Wasbank, between Dundee and Ladysmith, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. A farmer, Barry Jones and his wife Pam were alerted by their barking dog to a suspicious vehicle outside their home. Barry went to investigate and was overpowered by four armed attackers.

The attackers held Barry around his throat, pressed a firearm to his chest and forced him back into the home.

The couple were held up while the attackers demanded cash and firearms.

The home was then raided and items, including three firearms and the couple’s bank cards, were stolen. There is a lookout for the attackers vehicle, a silver Renault Clio.

The couple, whilst not seriously injured, have been severely traumatized by the attack.

All role players responded but there have been no arrests.

There is no other information available at this stage.
