Family tied up during armed robbery in Gemmel Place, Durban

Just after 5am on Saturday, Marshall Security were called to Gemmel Place in Durban North after a neighbour reported a house robbery had occurred at a premises in the road.

Reports from the scene indicate that four armed suspects scaled the boundary wall at approximately 3am, before removing a window and gaining entry into the home.

The armed suspects confronted a mother and three children. The victims hands were bound with ductape before the family were confined to a bedroom whilst the armed men ransacked the home.

The suspects removed flat screen televisions and various other electronic devices before fleeing the scene.

The family although not physically injured, were left severely traumatised in the ordeal and the assistance of the Durban North Victim Support Team was sought to council them.

The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
