Five attackers armed with a rifle and handguns held up a residence on Rajendra Street in Gandhinagar, Tongaat on the afternoon of Saturday 6 October 2018.
At approximately 17:21 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the home after receiving reports of the robbery. Upon arrival it was established that the armed men had forced open the driveway gate and held up the family.
They robbed the victims of jewelry and keys to two vehicles parked on the property. They were disturbed and the suspects then fled the scene in a silver VW Polo. An extensive search was conducted for the the robbers however no arrests were made.
The victims were not injured during the robbery.
