Three suspects are behind bars after they allegedly opened a false hijacking case at Tongaat police station. The arrested suspects aged between 18 and 22 years are due to appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday facing charges of defeating the ends of justice.
Following an investigation by detectives it was established that all three were lying and had opened a false case of hijacking. All three suspects were arrested and charged with defeating the ends of justice.
This is once again an indication that our police officers will not condone the misuse of police resources through the opening of false cases.
