Two schools were burnt down in KZN, apparently by pupils who failed the recent matric exams.

The Mvuzo High School in Pietermaritzburg was opened in 2017 and since then it has experienced 16 burglaries. The Department of Education has threatened not to rebuild schools that are destroyed.

An educator later said “The barbaric behavior of scholars is one of the reasons why the country is in chaos and education cannot function properly”.
