Unarmed female security officer killed execution style in Umlazi
KZN MEC for Health Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo has come out strongly in condemning the murder of a Security Guard at V Section at Umlazi early this morning.
Information received indicates that an unarmed female Security Guard employed by Mbodla Security Company that is contracted to Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital was attacked on her way home after she had finished her night shift. She is understood to have held a position of a Supervisor in the company.
The reasons for her murder are unknown at this stage and remain the subject of police investigations.
It is alleged that two unknown attackers accosted her and shot her once at the back of her head and she demised on the scene.
MEC Dr Dhlomo says even though the deceased was not employed by the Department, she was nonetheless part of the family as her company is contracted to perform security service duties to one of the Department’s facilities. He further says the attack was a cowardly act on a defenseless woman.
‘It is indeed horrifying that the perpetrators of this evil deed had the guts and audacity to use a gun to take a life of a female. We pray that the law-enforcement agencies will diligently do their task and permanently remove such callous killers from our society,” said MEC Dhlomo.
The body of this 36 year old female guard was removed by Police to a Pathology Forensic Mortuary for a post-mortem.
