On 18 October 2021, at 10:30, the Eshowe Task Team swiftly responded to intelligence regarding a man who was in possession of firearms at Ntumeni in Eshowe.
Upon arrival at the given address, the suspect tried to flee but was swiftly apprehended.
He was searched and found in possession of a pistol with seven rounds of ammunition. A further search was conducted inside the suspect’s house and police found a homemade shotgun.
The 60-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for being in unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
He is appearing in the Eshowe Magistrates Court on 19 October 2021.
