At 00H33 Sunday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting near a store in Kwapata location, Edendale, KwaZulu-Natal.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male believed to be approximately thirty years old sustained a single gunshot wound to his face.
The patient was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support Practitioner and transported by ambulance to hospital for further assessment and care.
Details leading up to the shooting are unknown and will form subject of a SAPS investigation.
All necessary authorities were on scene.
