At approximately 14:15 on Saturday 15 June 2019, Marshall Security received a panic alert from a residence in Pembroke Road, Durban North. Armed Reaction officers responded to the scene and further information revealed that as the homeowners where arriving at their residential complex, they were followed in by armed suspects.
Three men armed with handguns confronted them whilst a fourth, armed with an AK47 assault rifle, stood guard at the gate. The men demanded cell phones, jewellery and money, assaulting an elderly male, before fleeing in an unknown direction.
The victims were attended to by Crisis Medical Paramedics. The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
