During the early hours of Monday morning, 27 July 2020, suspects removed the pane from their kitchen window and entered their residence. The 67 year old male victim and his 57 year old wife woke up to find one of the suspects in the kitchen.

When confronted, the suspect jumped through the kitchen window and fled.

On Wednesday morning, 29 July 2020, at approximately 04:45 three suspects forced open the back door and entered the residence. The male victim was in the lounge and he attempted to flee into the bedroom. One of the suspects grabbed him and produced a large knife.

He instructed one of his accomplices search for valuables while the third suspect kept a lookout. The female victim hid in one of the bedrooms while the suspects led her husband to the main bedroom and searched for cash and jewelry.

They removed a 55 inch Sansui TV and left it on the outside of the home. The robbers then emptied food from the fridge and freezer and loaded it into the microwave but abandoned it when they were disturbed. The suspects fled the scene on foot with the television, cash and jewelry.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call regarding the home invasion at approximately 05:03. Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search of the area however no arrests were made.

The couple were not injured.
