On 10 May 2019, at approximately 11:00 an unknown number of suspects armed with handguns robbed Edgars Stores at Theku Plaza Plaza in Madadeni. An undisclosed amount of cash, clothes and cellphones with an estimated value of R235 000 was taken.

The suspects managed to flee the scene with the loot.

At 11:55 members of Amajuba Cluster attached to Operation Fiela who were off duty at the time of the incident went an extra mile and placed themselves on duty and with the assistance from a tracking company managed to trace the suspects to a the house at Section 7 in Madadeni Township.

Members raided the house and successfully recovered a firearm with its serial number filed off and live ammunition, cell phones and clothing. The suspects are still at large.
