The Durban Municipality has suspended a conference scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
The cost for the conference amounts to R2,1 million rand, and according to the local manager, most or all of the money has been spent on the arrangements.
There are allegations that instructions from above were received to cancel the conference since Mangosuthu Buthelezi would be the keynote speaker. He and other facilitators would receive R300 000 for their “work.”
