A seven year old girl had a piece of her scalp ripped off and an eleven year old boy suffered extensive head injuries after a 25 year old drunk driver drove over them on Quarry Road, Redcliffe on Monday 29 October 2018.

The scholars who are in Grade 5 and Grade 7 at Redcliffe Primary School were walking home when the driver lost control whilst driving a silver Toyota Etios and dragged the children for several meters. He was arrested on scene.

Paramedics from Reaction Unit South Africa stabilized both scholars and transported them to Osindisweni Government Hospital. They remain in a critical condition.

A third scholar who was walking alongside the two children whilst carrying an infant escaped injury.
