KwaZulu-Natal police are still rooting out drugs off our streets and also to prevent criminal activities from being committed through the use of drugs. We are encouraging the community members to come on board and assist us in getting rid of drugs by providing valuable information which will assist us in arresting those dealing in drugs.

In 24 hours, the police officers embarked on a number of crime prevention operations in hotspot areas in the province conducting stop and search duties.

Police also targeted known drug dealers at Chatsworth, Phoenix, Pietermaritzburg and Madadeni where their premises were searched. Large amount of drugs were seized and suspects were arrested. All arrested suspects will appear in various courts in the province.

The police officers were also targeting liquor outlets where they closed down four illegal outlets. Four suspects were charged for dealing in liquor without a license. We want to warn the drug dealers and illegal liquor outlets that the police officers will continue with their operations in closing down these illegal activities.
