A 47 year old man was severely injured after he was assaulted and robbed by a group of men at the Eastbury Drive and Phoenix Highway intersection in Phoenix this morning, 10 August 2018.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by other motorists who found the injured man lying in the street. Upon arrival he was treated for blunt force trauma and open wounds to his head before being transported to hospital.

It is alleged that the victim was stationary in his BMW behind a Hyundai i10 at the intersection when the robot turned green. The driver of the BMW hooted for the Hyundai i10 to proceed when four occupants of the vehicle approached the victim and began assaulting him.

The Indian males then robbed him of his cell phone, wallet and chain before fleeing.

An extensive search was conducted for the suspects however no arrests were made.
