The Police Ministry has learnt with shock of the double mass murders that have claimed the lives of 11 people in KwaZulu- Natal this week.
On Sunday, 29 August 2021, six people were shot and killed at U Section in Umlazi section.
Two days later on Tuesday, 31 August 2021, three gunmen opened fire inside a house in W Section killing five people who were shot in the head, three others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.
Investigations continue and police are yet to make arrests.
Police Minister, General Bheki Cele will on Thursday, 2 September 2021 receive a full briefing on both the incidents by the SAPS provincial management team, before making his way to the crime scenes.
Members of the media are invited to join the minister at the site visits.
