Three murder suspects aged between 22 and 26 are appearing at the Ramsgate Magistrates Court on two counts of murder and robbery. On Friday, 8 February 2019 at 12:45, Gamalakhe police responded to a scene of murder which had occurred at Walter Sisulu Road in Gamalakhe.

A concerned member of the public went to the Gamalakhe police station to report a foul smell emanating from her neighbour’s home. She alleged that there was no response when she attempted to call the persons occupying the premises. Police proceeded to the said property and discovered that the premises was secured.

Police discovered the decomposed bodies of a 73 year old woman and 34 year old man lying down in the bathroom covered with a blanket. The victims were identified as Sfiso (34) and Doris June Ntozakhe (73). A post-mortem examination is yet to establish the cause of their death. Some items were missing from the property such as a car which had been parked in the yard, a flat screen TV as well as other belongings.

Following an intensive investigation, on Tuesday, 12 February 2019, Gamalakhe detectives were able to make a breakthrough. The missing vehicle was traced and recovered at Esikhaleni near Empangeni. Three suspects were arrested and detained as suspects in this case.
