An operation was conducted by the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit after they received information about a man that was transporting drugs in his vehicle from Gauteng to Durban.

The team worked tirelessly in gathering all the information as well as the travelling routes.

On 24 August 2022, at 17:15, while holding observation, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted travelling in Umngeni Road near Durban Station and it was intercepted.

Upon searching the vehicle, the suspect was found in possession of approximately 2,2kg of pure heroin powder.

The 29-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for possession and dealing in drugs.

The recovered drugs are valued at R350 000-00.
