Amongst those convicted, 12 accused were sentenced to life imprisonment for rape cases whilst others were sentenced to a total of 394 years in prison.

A total of 402 suspects were also arrested during the same month for various crimes such as rape, sexual assault, assault GBH, attempted murder, common assault, concealment of birth, kidnapping as well as other sexual offences.

Theses seasoned investigators will continue to persevere in bringing those who abuse women and children to book. Citizens can be assured that all cases in their hands will be thoroughly investigated to ensure that those implicated end up in prison.
