A Cowies Hill resident escaped a home invasion unharmed after he was held up at gunpoint at around lunchtime on 11 January 2019.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the resident was relaxing at his home in Cheshire Avenue with a friend at around 12.15pm, when a gang of armed robbers arrived in a white Toyota Fortuner and forced open the driveway gate to gain entry to the premises.

“A gang of four suspects held up the resident and his friend at gunpoint. They fled the scene with cellphones, cash, jewellery, a television, remotes and two vehicles from the property, which were later recovered by a vehicle tracking company. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said.

Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
