On 27 July 2021, Mtubatuba Regional Court convicted and sentenced Sqiniseko Mabuza (29) for possession of counterfeit goods. On 26 May 2020 an intelligence driven operation was conducted by Hawks members from Richards Bay Serious Organised Crime Investigation team and Hluhluwe Vispol on the N2 freeway near Hluhluwe.

Police stopped a bakkie that was transporting counterfeit goods and Mabuza was arrested.

He was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment or pay a fine of R100 000-00. Mabuza was further sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years on condition that he is not convicted for the same offence during the period of suspension.

His vehicle was also forfeited to the state and he was declared unfit to possess a firearm.
