Contravention of Disaster Management Act and bribery : 2 Arrested, Durban

On 5 April 2020, at approximately 16:00, Ethekwini Inner South Cluster Task Team arrested two men for contravening the Disaster Management Act in Shallcross, Durban. Whilst police where executing their duties, one of the suspects offered police a R10 000-00 bribe.

The members refused the bribe resulting in the arrest of the suspect. Police seized 430 packets of cigarettes and cash.

Both accused aged 25 and 30 will accused appear before the Chatsworth Magistrates Court on charges of the Contravention of the Disaster Management Act and bribery.
