The Edendale community is in mourning following a tragic water tanker crash that claimed multiple lives in the Nhlazatshe area on Sunday, April 27 2025. Authorities and local leaders have extended their deepest condolences to the grieving families affected by the devastating accident.
According to preliminary reports, the tanker lost control while navigating a steep section of road, crashing into nearby homes and vehicles before overturning. Emergency services responded swiftly, but tragically, several fatalities were confirmed at the scene. A number of survivors were rushed to nearby hospitals with serious injuries.
Msunduzi Municipality officials, along with KwaZulu-Natal transport authorities, have launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash. Early speculation points to possible brake failure, though an official cause has yet to be confirmed.
