Yesterday evening, at around 6pm, a Nissan NP200 bakkie was reported stolen in Scottsville. Luckily, the vehicle was fitted with a tracker, and the company, Tracker Connect, circulated details on its last known coordinates.
Various roleplayers, including the police and private security companies – including Mi7 National Group – collaborated to search for the vehicle. Eventually, the team intercepted the vehicle in the Westgate area – after only an hour.
One suspect in whose possession the vehicle was found was arrested. He was also found in possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition, a remote jamming device, tools used for breaking into cars like a key programmer, and a police radio scanner.
We applaud all role players involved in the arrest. This is yet another example of the power of collaboration in the fight against crime….
