A 34-year-old suspect is in police custody at Point SAPS after he was found with drugs in his possession. He was arrested and charged for possession of drugs. He will appear in the Durban Magistrates Court on 20 April 2020.

His arrest is the result of an operation that was conducted by the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit with Trio Task Team on Friday night 17 April 2020.

The teams are maintaining their diligence in fighting the drug-scourge in the province by continuing to put criminals for drug-related crimes behind bars. Police pounced on the suspect at his residential premises on Gillepsie Street and recovered drugs.

Rock cocaine, cocaine powder, crystal meth and methcathonone with an estimated street value of more than R50 000-00 were seized.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula applauded the police officers for their determination to root out the drug trade in the province.
