An intelligence operation conducted by Chatsworth police led to the arrest of four suspects wanted for fraud case committed at a retail store in Chatsworth.

It is alleged that on Saturday, 21 September 2019, two suspects approached a cashier at the store where they produced fraudulent receipts in exchange for a refund. The alert cashier immediately informed her manager who then alerted police. Two suspects aged 31 and 32 were arrested by police thereafter placed in police holding cells.

Whilst in detention, two other suspects arrived at the station to apply for bail for the detainees. Police immediately arrested a further two suspects aged 40 and 47. The suspects were not aware that they were already wanted by police. They will be profiled to check if they are linked to other cases committed in the province.

The suspects are appearing in the Chatsworth Magistrates’ Court on charges of fraud.
